Since 2006, Britta has studied Middle Eastern and Tribal Fusion belly dance, Latin, West African dance, and the African diaspora dances of the Caribbean and Brazil, namely Samba and Orixa movement, Polynesian and Turkish Roman “Gypsy” dance.

Britta is a student of African and Tribal Fusion belly dance instructor, Deja Mitchell, and the Afro-Brazilian group, Samba Fogo.  She has also studied Afro-Brazilian dance with the creator of the Silvestre Dance Technique,  Rosangela Silvestre, and the Portland based Afro-Brazilian and Afro-Cuban group Axé Didé, African dance with Ibou N’gom, Wyoma, and Maputo Mensa, and belly dance with Zoe Jakes, Amy Sigil of Unmata, Rachel Brice, Ashley Lopez, Sadie Marquardt, Zuhra Zakiyah (Candace Baker), Emilie “Leyla” Le laCheur and various others.

She has been a student of Yoga for several years and in 2011 entered the Registered Yoga Teacher practice at Borrowed Earth Emporium. Calling upon similarities in these various dance traditions, and the healing arts, she helped co-develop Women’s Vitality Dance with one of her teachers, Tamara Anderson.

Britta is available for private tutoring in yoga, samba, belly dance or prenatal dance. She is also available for performance within reasonable notice. Prices vary on the occasion.
